   Michael Gabor - Outstanding Achievement in Individual Placement - Supported Employment


        Rigoberto Gutierrez - Outstanding Achievement in Community Inclusion Services
 
Two young men from the SVS Lawndale Office were honored recently for their      
outstanding achievement and personal growth in the workplace.

Michael Gabor has worked at Home Depot as a participant in the SVS
Supported Employment - Individual Placement Program since November of 2004.

                         His story is one of continual improvement. Mr. Gabor has worked his way up from                                                              cart retrieval and Christmas tree loading to working in the Lighting Dept.                                                        Today Michael is responsible for writing invoices and assisting customers where he,                        among other things, measures and cuts electrical wire to order.

                            Michael he has proven himself to be an indispensable part of the Home Depot team.                                            
                                                                                    *     *     *                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Rigoberto Gutierrez has been a participant in SVS                                                                                              Community Inclusion Services  in Lawndale since June of 2006.                                                                                     
  When Mr. Gutierrez joined the SVS program, he was genuinely shy and found it difficult to interact with people.     Since starting at South Bay Jaguar, Rigoberto has developed work skills and a confidence in himself that shows.    On any given day Rigoberto can be seen on the lot interacting with coworkers as well as the general public.
                                                                                                                                                                                 Rigoberto has been so successful that he is now planning to move to the 
SVS Supported Employment program so that he may work full time.
